To make these fructose-free, you can use dextrose/glucose, which can be ordered here or found at some natural or health food stores. It is basically table sugar with the fructose removed.
1/4 cup (or up to 1/3 cup) pure cane sugar or dextrose
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
- In a large saucepan, combine the first four ingredients. Slowly stir in milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick and bubbly. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Carefully pour into popsicle molds and freeze. This makes enough for 8 4-oz. pops.
