I am so excited to finally share with you what I have been working on this past year. I have literally put my blood, sweat and tears into this cookbook. Writing this book has probably been the most difficult and scariest thing I have ever done, but it was an exciting opportunity that I couldn't pass up.

I spent hundreds of hours in the kitchen perfecting these low-FODMAP versions of my favorite recipes. Many of the recipes are inspired by growing up and living in the Midwest: classic comfort food dishes like casseroles and slow cooker meals. I also included fresh and healthy recipes that I have grown to appreciate in recent years, like salads and stir-fry.

The cookbook includes 100 recipes, with over 80 NEW recipes:
  • 10 Breakfast Recipes
  • 9 Breads and Muffins
  • 30 Main Dishes
  • 11 Soups and Stews
  • 19 Salads and Sides
  • 16 Sweets and Treats

It was of utmost importance that my cookbook be factually sound, taking into account how complicated and intricate the low-FODMAP diet can be. I worked with Monash University, the leading researcher in FODMAPs, to ensure accuracy and used the FODMAP App as a guide in designing the recipes. I highly encourage you to purchase the app as a companion to my book.

In addition to 100 low-FODMAP recipes, I also explain the science behind FODMAPs, how the low-FODMAP diet works and how to improve digestion. There are also plenty of tips on grocery shopping, snacks ideas and sample meal plans.

I'm also very excited about these other features of my book:
  • No xanthan gum! All of the recipes are gluten-free, but were designed to not require any gums, such as xanthan or guar.
  • Over 20 Vegan recipes and 15 recipes with a vegan option.
  • Simple, uncomplicated ingredients.
  • And of course, beautiful color photos.
Here are a few examples of some of my favorite recipes from the book.

Double Chocolate Banana Muffins

Tomato Basil Chicken Penne

Strawberry Rhubarb Galette with Lemony Whipped Cream

  1. I am so excited to see that you wrote a cookbook. This is a HUGE need for those of us dealing with IBS. Between my sensitive belly and the fact that my daughter has celiac disease and neither of us digest eggs well, planning meals can be so difficult. I have returned to the recipes on your blog again and again because they are easy, taste delicious, and don't leave us with regrets later. Thank you so much!

    1. You're welcome! I'm so glad you enjoy the recipes on my blog and I hope you enjoy my cookbook! Thanks for the comment. Best wishes to you and your daughter.

  2. Diane, I have to let you know that I have been using your cookbook for the last 3 months. I was asked by my doctor to go on the Low Fodmap diet. I was defeated until my husband said to focus on what I can eat. I bought your cookbook the next day. I have tried a lot of the items in the book. All of them turned out wonderful. I have had guests here for the last months and they love the different meals. The meatloaf is amazing!! Thank you for helping me and my family enjoy healthy home cooked fodmap meals.

    1. Glad you are enjoying the cookbook and happy the recipes are working for you! Thanks for the comment!
